MARKHAM’S REMARKABLE LINEUP OF WINTER EVENTS
Canada is famous for winter. The world over, we’re known as a country that finds ways to stay healthy, happy, and entertained through six months of freezing temperatures. How? Because we know that a little snow on the ground only adds to winter cheer. Because we know that, on a cold day, there’s nothing that a cup of hot chocolate can’t fix. Because we know that winter means snowmen, tobogganing, sparkling lights, mulled wine, roaring fires, and a remarkable lineup of cold weather events. Here are some of the best ones coming to Markham this season. Cheers to winter!
Markham offers endless options to hit the rink. From the Civic Centre ice rink to almost a dozen skating programs designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike, Toronto’s neighbour to the north is a great place to lace up.
Markham boasts four of the top spots for best places to toboggan in the GTA according to ChildsLife.ca. Start slip sliding at Mint Leaf Park, Milliken Mills Park, Milne Park, or Paramount Park. Just remember to get the lay of the land before bombing downhill and always use common sense. Putting safety first will help make sure you can enjoy winter activities all season long.
New Year’s Eve in Downtown Markham
